- Creator-Driven Successor: The two shows that Cambria produced afterwards, Space Angel and Captain Fathom, were made with the exact same cast, budget, and "animation" methods as Clutch.
- Cross-Dressing Voices: A woman, Margaret Kerry, voices Spinner and Paddlefoot.
- No Budget: This was an action/adventure cartoon that couldn't even afford animation! Not only were the animators restricted to using Synchro-Vox for dialogue, but they also had to use live action movement as a substitute for animation wherever possible. Cambria co-founder Clark Haas admitted that the budget for each five minute episode was made on one-fifth of the budget that Hanna-Barbera would use for their show at the time. To put that in perspective, each episode of The Ruff & Reddy Show costed $3,000 to make, which would mean Clutch's budget would have been around $600 per episode!
- Referenced by...: Mr. Incredible and Pals eagerly parodies all the tropes and cliches of The Dark Age of Animation, including the show's Synchro-Vox.
