Trivia / Chuck E. Cheese in the Galaxy 5000

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Both Pasqually and Harry are played by Stephen Lange. Chuck E. lampshades this twice when he points out the uncanny resemblance.
    • Christopher Sabat voices the news announcer and makes a live-action cameo as a piano player in addition to voicing Mr. Munch.
    • Chris Cason is one of the suit actors for Munch, and plays a reporter.
  • Creator Backlash: Funimation produced this video, years before they found footing as a famous anime dubbing studio (although they were dubbing Dragon Ball Z at the time). Outside of this advertorial Funimation ran on Anime News Network, they almost never bring it up.
  • Creator Cameo: Funimation founder Gen Fukunaga (who was also a producer with his wife Cindy) cameos as a policeman.
  • Direct to Video: It was primarily sold at the titular restaurant and Target for $16, with a coupon for $8 in arcade tokens.
  • Fake Nationality:
    • Pasqually (an Italian) is played by the non-Italian Steven Lange.
    • The X-Pilots are played by Americans Kenyon Holmes (Peter) and Rob Flanagan (Ivan), using stereotypical Austrian accents.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The film has yet to be released on any further types of home media and streaming, and its sole VHS release is long out of print (and was only sold at Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants and Target stores), but can be found online.
  • Non-Singing Voice:
    • While Georgia Denney does Helen's speaking voice and singing voice in most of the songs, Heather Garner performs "The Real Me".
    • Composer and writer Neil Bligh sings for Jackson Kane as Dr. Zoom in his Villain Song. Similarly, professional singer Mike McFarland dubbed the singing voice for Harry.
  • One-Book Author: Most of the people involved have no other IMDb credits.
  • The Other Darrin: Only Duncan Brannan (Chuck E.) and Jeremy Blaido (Jasper) reprised their roles from the showtapes. The rest were recast with Christopher Sabat as Mr. Munch (replacing John Bowen), Georgia Denney as Helen (replacing Karisa Burleson for the speaking voice and Annagrey Wiechman for the singing, though Heather Garner performed "The Real Me" as Helen), Stephen Lange as a live-action Pasqually (replacing Earl Fisher), and Galen Beyea as a live-action Charlie Rockit (replacing Blaido).
  • Prop Recycling: The heads for the costumed characters were reused from the Awesome Adventure Machine showtapes from 1996-97.
  • Role Reprise: As stated above, Duncan Brannan and Jeremy Blaido were the official voices of Chuck E. and Jasper.
  • What Could Have Been: According to this 1999 quarterly report, the cover was going to be different.
