• What Could Have Been: Timothy Zahn originally planned a sequel to Choices of One to conclude the Hand of Judgement duology as a trilogy. The book would have been released as part of a trilogy pitch Zahn was to present to Lucasfilm and Del Rey known as The Maestro Trilogy, including two more novels with one featuring Grand Admiral Thrawn along with the Chiss and the other one involving Mara Jade preventing an assassination attempt on Darth Vader. However, when Disney opted to establish a canon reboot in anticipation of the Sequel Trilogy, rebranding most of Zahn's first Star Wars stories as part of the Star Wars Legends, these plans fell through.
