- Executive Meddling: According to an interview from the first game's strategy guide, Hironobu Sakaguchi insisted that the developers include the ATB system from the main Final Fantasy series at all costs.
- Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": Since the first Chocobo's Dungeon game was never released outside of Japan, the characters from that game are seen as newcomers in Every Buddy. They also conveniently explain the plot of their respective game.
- No Export for You: An international release of the first game was planned, but the source code given to the localization director was too incomplete to work with, and the original files had already been lost.
- The Other Darrin: The 2019 re-release of Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon (known as Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy) uses an entirely different English voice track from the original Wii version.
- Sequel Gap: Chocobo GP is set to launch in 2022, a whopping 23 years after the original Chocobo Racing. There were earlier plans for a Chocobo Racing game on the Nintendo 3DS called Chocobo Racing 3D, but those plans fell through by 2013.
