• Enforced Method Acting: In 2008, nearly two decades after this film's release, three of its major stars - Andy Lau, Alex Man and Carina Lau would reveal that they are being forced against their will by the local triads, who had a hand in financing this movie, to act on the set. Producer Manfred Wong confirms that yes, indeed, the major stars of Hong Kong were in fact dragged into making China White with threats and blackmails. Andy Lau was even forced on set at gunpoint, while Carina was abducted by mobsters over her refusal to participate in the making, but is later freed when she eventually agrees.
