  • Ascended Fanon: Two songs that Sampled Up Chic originals have ended up being incorporated back into the Chic tracks when played live:
    • "Good Times" started being played as a medley with "Rapper's Delight" almost as soon as the latter was released, and has been played that way ever since.
    • A similar thing happened with Modjo's "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)" being put into a medley with Chic's original "Soup For One" - the latter being Rescued From The Scrappy Heap as a result.
  • Breakaway Pop Hit: They wrote and produced Carly Simon's hit "Why" for the film Soup For One. The film and even the soundtrack album have long since slipped into obscurity, but the song remains familiar and has attracted quite a few cover versions.
  • Career Resurrection: After the duo broke up, Nile's work did not sell as well and it wasn't until David Bowie heard his solo album that he commissioned Nile to write him a hit, resulting in "Let's Dance". The song renewed both their careers and Nile has remained an in-demand producer since, as well as reforming Chic and carrying on the band as a popular live act after Bernard's death.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: Nile Rodgers has said that the first Sister Sledge collaboration We Are Family is "our best album hands down".

  • What Could Have Been: They turned down the chance to produce The Rolling Stones early in their career; later, their record label nixed the idea of a collaboration with Aretha Franklin. They also recorded an album with Johnny Mathis which was never released; arguably more of a loss for Mathis than Rodgers and Edwards.
