- Creator's Pest: Series caretaker Koji Igarashi famously hated Sonia Belmont, shoving her off to languish in Canon Discontinuity as soon as he had the authority to do so, keeping Legends out of rereleases to make the game difficult to access, and never so much as letting her get a Spiritual Successor so long as he helmed the franchise. The death of Castlevania: Resurrection wasn't entirely his doing, but he sure didn't lift a finger to salvage any of it. While it's commonly believed he didn't like the idea of a female warrior in the 1400s, this is based on quotes falsely attributed to him; his official reason is that he feels the game is terrible and causes irreconcilable issues with the timeline.
- Dummied Out: There are coin graphics like the previous Game Boy games, but they go unused due to there being no score system in the final.
- A Sound Test is also hidden in the game and can only be accessed through Gameshark codes.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Hasn't had a re-release since it was first released for the Game Boy in 1997, even when the two other Game Boy entries were included in 2019's Castlevania Anniversary Collection. Finally averted when it was added to the Nintendo Switch Online service on October 30, 2023.
- Meaningful Release Date: Fitting of its horror themes, this game was re-released for the first time on Halloween.
