• Fake Nationality: Billy Campbell (American) as Detective John Cardinal.^note As of 2018, he's a permanent resident with residence in Vancouver.
  • Averted with Karine Vanasse who plays Lise Delorme. She explains in interviews that the show is one of the few instances where she plays a Canadian from Quebec.
• Recycled Set: The ABPD's main office is based from the CBC Sudbury's office, which was closed down years ago.
• What Could Have Been: The show was originally supposed to be a single miniseries but proved to be popular enough for additional seasons to be commissioned.
