• What Could Have Been: Not for the movie itself, but for the US title. The Night Creatures was originally intended as the title of an adaptation of Richard Matheson's I Am Legend, scripted by Matheson himself in 1957. It was scrapped when both UK and US censors declared the script unacceptable, but Hammer had already promised their US distributors a film with that title, and ended up using it for Captain Clegg.
