• Inspiration for the Work: The plot of the game was allegedly based on Director Kouichi "Isuke" Yotsui's experience working with Capcom during the development of the first Strider (Arcade) game. To elaborate: the development of the project hit some slags, ran behind schedule and underperformed in the sales department despite rave reviews. Capcom blamed the delays (and in an roundabout way, Isuke) for the game's middling performance. Isuke left Capcom not long after that. You can draw parallels of it with Kirin being hired by Jack Layzon to deal with the Slaver cultists, only for Kirin to get stabbed in the back and disposed of after finishing the job.
