Trivia / Can Cry

• Acting for Two: In line with the conventions of the genres that inspired Can Cry (teamnesia and murdergame, though it isn't quite either), only mods can do this (playing multiple NPCs); everyone gets just one player character.
• Killed by Request: The option to make a character Deader than Dead by destroying their soul has never been used, but is laid out in the rules of the game.
  This would be A Big Fucking Deal and not something that would happen during the normal progression of play, so if you do decide to irrecoverably mcfuck up your character, please contact the mods first – and be aware that we may not give you permission to do it, at least right away.
• Milestone Celebration: For the game's first anniversary, everyone got a free memory or power, a love meme was posted, and some more meta information pages about the story and characters so far were added.
• Portmanteau Series Nickname: Mercy/Medic's OC canon is listed as "Synblade" on the taken list, which is a contraction of the full title, Synchronic Blade.
• Schedule Slip: Can Cry was initially going to open in spring 2020, but ended up starting in late summer. The delay was a good thing, giving the mod team more time to put the game together as well as giving everyone involved some rest since... 2020.
• Word of God: According to mod statements in the Discord (and edits here), Kotori's name is a Shout-Out to Love Live! and not a Call-Back to the "little bird" mentioned earlier in the level, and Alice is not an intentional Alice Allusion despite the slight similarities^note Being "lost" and recovered in an altered mental state, plus she seems to be English given some of the expressions she uses (e.g. "spanner in the works" rather than "wrench in the gears") — although given the mod playing her is English, that may not be intentional).
