- Iain Cook and Martin Doherty were both involved with the post-rock band Aerogramme before forming Chvrches.
- Lauren Mayberry sang and played drums and keyboards in various different bands (including Blue Sky Archives) before joining Chvrches. She also worked as a freelance journalist for multiple outlets. This included The Line Of Best Fit, where her work for them is still online
. - Iain has a side project called Projection with Scott Patterson. Scott Patterson is the former guitarist of Sons and Daughters, who were also from Glasgow.
- Romance on the Set: Lauren met her current boyfriend Samuel Stewart (son of Dave Stewart of Eurythmics) because his band Lo Moon opened for Chvrches in 2019.
- What Could Have Been: Martin was originally supposed to be the lead vocalist of Chvrches, with Lauren just being a backing vocalist. After the band heard how good she was as a singer, they decided to make her the lead vocalist instead.
