Trivia / Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins

Go To

  • Compilation Movie: 'The Adventure Begins' was released as a straight-to-video "movie" prior to the show's airing, and later aired as three episodes. The DTV versions includes an opening scene with Andy's toys receiving the movie on VHS tape.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: This movie has ever only been released on DVD and VHS. It has never been released on Disney+, most likely because of Pixar wanting to bury this movie, as well as the show that followed it.
  • Multi-Part Episode: The movie was reformatted into a three-part-episode when it aired on television, aptly titled BLOSC: TAB Part 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
  • The Other Darrin: When this movie was reformatted for television, Patrick Warburton replaced Tim Allen as the voice of Buzz Lightyear.
    • As per usual, Woody is voiced by Tom Hanks' brother Jim for his DTV cameo. Hamm also got Darrin'd for the first (and to date, only) time, being voiced by Andrew Stanton instead of John Ratzenberger.
    • While Jessie is only a silent character in this movie, the Mexican dub has her making gestures. However, Alma Wilheleme recorded Jessie's gestures instead of IrĂ¡n Castillo.
  • The Other Marty: Buzz was voiced by Warburton to begin with for this movie, but for the DTV release, Warburton's lines were redubbed by Allen, in order to connect more to the Toy Story movies.
  • Role Reprise: As noted above, Tim Allen reprised his role as Buzz Lightyear in the movie. In the Framing Device animated by Pixar, Wallace Shawn, R. Lee Ermey and Joe Ranft reprised their respective roles as Rex, Sarge, and Wheezy (here, the Little Green Men were voiced by Patrick Warburton).
