Trivia / Buckshot Roulette

  • What Could Have Been: According to an article by Mike Klubnika and the dev team regarding cut ideas for the game:
    • Buckshot Roulette was originally supposed to be one mini-game of several in a much larger horror game, with the player receiving Plot Coupons for winning.
    • The hand saw originally used the model of a traditional hacksaw. It was replaced with the folding hand saw seen in-game so that it could fit on the item grid comfortably. Additionally, hand saws were planned to be stackable at one point, but the feature was axed for balance and to save time on animation.
    • Whoever got the first turn in a round would originally have been randomly determined by the Dealer spinning the shotgun. This was dropped at some point in favor of making the player always go first, though they hinted at possibly bringing the mechanic back for multiplayer.
    • The ending cutscene was originally meant to be longer and feature the player looking in the rear view mirror, revealing that their head was gone (y'know, like you'd expect to happen to someone who took a shotgun blast to the face at point-blank range). Conversely, the idea of the Game Over sequence was originally meant to be a more straight example of The Pearly Gates rather than the dark version seen in-game before being scrapped for something more fitting the game's tone.
