Trivia / Bruce Dickinson

Go To

  • Creative Differences: Disagreements with other members of the band led him to leave Iron Maiden in 1993, though he would rejoin them in time for Brave New World.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Bruce was approached at one point to fence for Britain in the Olympics, but turned it down.
    • Iron Maiden's The Book of Souls opener "If Eternity Should Fail" was written for a future solo album. The rest of the band, especially Steve Harris, liked it so much, they instead recorded it for that album.
    • Bruce's solo album Balls To Picasso had the Working Title of Laughing in the Hiding Bush and would have had a cover by Storm Thorgeson, but Bruce ultimately couldn't afford it. He went for the much cheaper option of drawing two squares on a bathroom wall and posing in front of it, while the proposed design of a nude man being dwarfed by a giant ball of garbage ended up being used for Anthrax's Stomp 442.
