Trivia / Brown's Pine Ridge Stories

Go To

  • What Could Have Been:
    • Three stories that were to be in the Brown's Pine Ridge Stories were removed at the recommendation of his wife and sons, who believed them to be too unrelated (one concerning car trunk malfunctions, one related to an attempt to have a judge impeached and removed in the aftermath of the acquittal of the perpetrators of the Alday murders, and one that was to be a biography of the author's father) to fit into the overall narrative of his childhood. He was initially opposed to the change, but eventually relented. He has instead decided to use the aforementioned stories as the basis for future works.
    • Some other titles that were considered for this anthology were "Gary Brown's Tales and Yarns" and "Coleman's Grocery and Rolling Store", the latter of which would be used as the title of the first story.
