Dawson Casting: Mostly averted, as the core teenage cast were indeed teenagers during filming. However, this applied with Walter Emmanuel Jones as Boomer; although Boomer was in his teens, Jones was in his twenties.

Brink is entirely responsible for the creation of the podcast Mom Can't Cook!: A DCOM Podcast, by Andy Farrant and Luke Westaway of Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra. During the COVID-19 pandemic and first national lockdown in Britain, the two ended up browsing Disney+ for things to watch and stave off boredom. After watching Avatar with mixed feelings, they trawled through a back catalogue of films (reasoning they might as well with nothing else to do) and watched this film out of curiosity. What happened afterwards was a subsequent binge-watching of Disney Channel Original Movies, and a podcast they launched in 2022.
