• Creator Backlash: She hated her fifth album Human for a while after it was released, placing blame on creative issues she had with her label at the time, an attempt to broaden more to the "electro" sound of pop at the time rather than the style she was comfortable with, and her personally still reeling from a tragic auto accident she was involved in during the albums production.^note Brandy's vehicle struck another which killed the driver inside; Brandy would not be charged due to evidence suggesting that the victim was drug-impaired and had been driving erratically earlier, though she would settle out of court with his family. In an interview when it was brought up, Brandy even responded with "To hell with that album!", and has not performed any of the songs from it live in over a decade. With that being said, recent tweets suggest that she may have come around to it in later years.
• Pop-Culture Urban Legends: A commonly circulated piece of trivia is that she is a first cousin to rapper Snoop Dogg and wrestler Sasha Banks. Snoop Dogg has stated this in interviews, but when Brandy was asked to confirm it in a radio interview she couldn't explain how they're related, meaning they're almost certainly not first cousins but could be more distantly related, and seemed to treat it more like a rumor that amuses her.
• Romance on the Set: Between her and Boyz II Men vocalist Wayna Morris during the "Brokenhearted" video. They ended up dating for a while.
