Trivia / Brandish

• Development Gag: Brandish VT was originally meant to be a completely new game known as Victim's Tower before becoming the fourth entry of the series, hence the "VT" in the title. In-game, one of the alternate names for the Fata Morgana Templum/Tower of the Sleeping God is the Victim's Tower, another reference to the original concept.
• Fan Translation: Two, in fact.
  • On November 3, 2009, a small team known as Synchronicity Translations released a translation for the original Super Famicom version of Brandish 2: The Planet Buster (README file), with their announcement receiving a Colbert Bump from Kotaku that ended up maxing out the site's bandwidth.
  • An unedited translation of The Planet Buster for the PC-98 was released on November 30, 2017, meant specifically for the Renewal version of Brandish 2 released in 1995. Read up on the game's story and download the patch here.
  • Gu4n, the project lead of the second fan translation for Brandish 2, also worked on a translation patch for Brandish 4, the Windows version of VT. However, only the Lawful path of Dee's story has been completed as of 2017 and there are currently no plans to finish the remainder of the translation according to Gu4n's FAQ section.
• Late Export for You: Falcom remade the original Brandish for the PlayStation Portable in 2009 as Brandish: The Dark Revenant. The game would not release in the NA and PAL regions until 2015, with localization efforts handled by XSEED Games.
• No Export for You: Only the original game and its remake (The Dark Revenant) were released outside of Japan, and only the latter title made it to Europe and Australia. The Planet Buster, Spirit of Balcan, the Renewal versions of the original trilogy, and VT: Fata Morgana Templum/4: The Tower of Sleeping God all remain Japan-only.
