• God Never Said That: Soon after the release of Bowser's Fury's trailer, claims began circulating of a Japanese press release naming Bowser's new form as "God-Slayer Bowser", which would be localized as "Mega Fury Bowser" in English, once again leading some fans to decry Nintendo of America for censoring religion in games like their heydays. However, the importance of checking sources was revealed when Matt McMuscles, the originator of the claim, explained that it was a joke, and no official names existed yet. This didn't stop some people, however. Funny enough, Matt McMuscles ended up being partially correct, as the form's official name in both Japanese and in English turned out to be very close to his fake localization name (Fury Bowser in most languages, Fury Koopa in Japanese, Chinese and Korean).
• What Could Have Been: Within the files of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is an unused Giga Mushroom power up, which looks like a larger, color-inverted Mega Mushroom, which likely would have been the item used to transform Mario in Bowser's Fury instead of the Giga Bell.
