• Fake Nationality: The Brazilian Rodrigo Santoro as the Portuguese (then Spanish subject) Ferdinand Magellan, though Santoro is indeed of Portuguese descent.
• Meaningful Release Date: The series was commissioned for the 500th anniversary of the completion of the first circumnavigation around the world in history by Juan Sebastián Elcano (who led the expedition after Magellan's death) in 1522, and was released in 2022.
