Trivia / Bop It

  • No Export for You: Only 2 games were released in Japan.
    • France, Germany, Italy, and Spain barely got any of the games before the 2008 version.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The 1996 version was originally going to look like a hammer.
    • Rather than the scream that plays whenever you lose, Homer Simpson's "D'oh!" was considered instead. (Ironically, they went on to mock the toy in one episode as the "Bonk It!" that drives Homer nuts.)
    • If you look at this early ConceptArt for the "Bop It Extreme", you'll see that it was not only originally going to be called "Extreme Bop It", but you'll also see two commands that didn't make the final cut: "Fire It" and "Squeeze It". Many years later, "Squeeze It" would go on to become a command for the 2017 "Bop It! Maker".
    • Here's even more concept art which shows it adapted as Pinball and arcade games.
