• Anonymous Author: It's never specified whether the writer was John the Apostle, John Mark, or John the Evangelist, or some other unknown John.^note And that's assuming he wasn't writing pseudonymously, which was a very common practice at the time. He definitely isn't John the Baptist. There is so much controversy over the authorship that most modern Bible scholars and commentators are of the view that you can't really tell who John the Revelator (as this one is sometimes called) was. Traditionally the writing has been credited to John the disciple of Jesus. ^note  The Church Fathers (Early Church leaders after the New Testament period), considered John the Apostle and John the Evangelist to be the same person.
• Beam Me Up, Scotty!: This book is sometimes wrongly called the "Book of Revelations". It's "Revelation", in singular.
• God Never Said That: Revelation's inclusion into the Christian Biblical canon was marred with controversy from the beginning. It is the only apocalyptic book in the canon^note there are many other apocalyptic writings from the same era, but none of them made it into canon and was among the last books accepted. In fact, Eastern Orthodox churches don't even read it in liturgy.
