Trivia / Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown

Go To

  • Acting for Two: With the exception of the flight attendant and the schoolteacher, all the adults in the film, including the Baron, are voiced by Scott Beach.
  • Blooper: Peppermint Patty is among the classmates congratulating Linus and Charlie Brown on being selected as exchange students - but when Charlie Brown gets home later, she telephones him and tells him that her school has selected her to do the same and expects him to be jealous.
  • The Danza: Patricia Patts shares the same first name as her character, Patricia "Peppermint Patty" Reichardt.
  • Franchise Killer: At least theatrically. The film's bombing at the box office led to no more Peanuts feature films being made... at least not until The Peanuts Movie 35 years later.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: This and What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown? never saw DVD releases until 2015, 15 years after Paramount started releasing Peanuts cartoons on DVD (and well after the home video rights for the specials had moved to Warner Home Video, as Paramount was the film's original theatrical distributor.)
  • Recycled Script: Peppermint Patty's nitpicking and criticizing of Charlie Brown at school is out of the comic strips, and later was adapted into an episode of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. Snoopy playing tennis at Wimbledon and launching into a John McEnroe-style tantrum is from You're a Good Sport, Charlie Brown.
  • Write What You Know: This movie was inspired by Charles M. Schulz's actual experiences. During World War II, he was stationed in France at a chateau. It's said that he returned there for a visit in the 1970s and pondered what might happen if Charlie Brown and company visited France; thus the idea for the movie was born.
