Trivia / Blakes Seven S 1 E 9 Project Avalon

• Follow the Leader: The influence of the first Star Wars movie (which opened in London just four weeks previously) on the rescue from the detention centre is obvious.
• Hey, It's That Place!: Interiors were filmed at Wookey Hole in Somerset. Doctor Who fans may also recognise it from "Revenge of the Cybermen".
• Recast as a Regular: Glynis Barber played a mutoid in this episode (the one who jumps the sentry). She would return as Soolin in Season D.
• Stunt Double: Stuntman Stuart Fell plays the rebel that Travis hits, and stunt-doubles for Glynis Barber in the scene where the mutoid jumps from the rocks onto a sentry — who ironically is played by female stuntwoman Cyd Child (who also plays a mutoid). It was decided that Fell was too short to play the trooper, so they swapped roles.
• Wag the Director: Originally, Cally was to accompany Blake on the mission, but Sally Knyvette complained about being under-utilised, so it was re-written to have Jenna go down.
• What Could Have Been: In Terry Nation's draft script, Gan was the one who asked Blake what went wrong on the mission, to which he replied, "Just about everything". Chris Boucher changed to Avon and Blake's reply to, "I was about to ask you that".
