• Fake Nationality: Most of the cast are Canadians playing Canadians, but Jim Balsillie is played by American national (though born in Japan) Glenn Howerton.
• Technology Marches On: Basically the premise of the movie. RIM successfully found a way to put the internet on the phone and changed the cellphone forever from small flip phone to larger smartphone. But then gets destroyed in the market themselves when a behemoth like Apple develops the touch screen phone and they can no longer compete.
