  • Creator's Oddball: 1978's "I Can't Wait Any Longer" and 1979's "Double S," both disco-flavored. The former used spoken-word verses and coda while the refrain was sung; the latter was strictly spoken word.
  • He Also Did: Besides hosting the game shows The Better Sex and Fandango, he starred in a few movies, and even owned the Po' Folks restaurant chain for a while. (It was named after one of his songs.)
