- Banned in China: Almost banned in Russia in 2011 to one particularly widely circulated commentary of the book, which was pushed to be put on the Federal List of Extremist Materials. The trial angered many Hindus and quickly ended up as a target for mockery in Russia itself.
- Beam Me Up, Scotty!: Thanks to Robert Oppenheimer, Supreme Lord Shree Krishna's line in Chapter 11, Verse 32 is often quoted as "Now I am become Death, destroyer of worlds," when his actual quote in the manuscript was "I am mighty Time, the source of destruction that comes forth to annihilate the worlds."
- Colbert Bump: Thanks to a certain American physicist known for creating the deadliest weapon in human history interpreting Krishna's statement, a lot of Americans started to take notice of this Hindu scripture that was unknown to them.
- Shrug of God: Was it always part of the Mahabharata, or was it written later and then inserted like a philosophical sandwich? The jury is out on this.
