Trivia / Berserk and the Band of the Hawk

Go To

  • Completely Different Title: For the English localization the game's title is changed from Berserk Musou in the original Japanese to Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. "Musou" roughly means "unrivaled", and is part of the title of all the "Warriors" games, "Warriors" being the word they used to translate "Musou" in the English versions. It's also a reference to the Musou gauge and the Musou attack, which are game mechanics shared by all of the titles in the series. It isn't immediately clear why the localizers chose this new title, but perhaps it's to distance the game from the Dynasty Warriors franchise, or to attract gamers who aren't already familiar with Berserk.
  • Dummied Out: Through some game data mining it was discovered the Skull Knight was planned as a fully playable character but was left as an NPC. He can be accessed via hacking.
  • No Dub for You: Has no English voice track upon its North American release, meaning that Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage is still the only Berserk game to get an English dub.
  • No Export for You: Downplayed. While the game was released overseas on almost every console it's available for in Japan, the PS3 version is apparently Japan-exclusive owing to how usually far older consoles are left out of new released. In exchange, overseas regions received a PC version, which Japan did not get.
  • The Other Darrin: Ubik's voice actor changed from Chafurin, who voiced the character ever since 1997, to Kan Tanaka here. Also, Godo's actor Takashi Inagaki replaces Unshō Ishizuka here as Void. There's also Kunihiro Kawamoto replacing Shigeru Chiba in the role of Wyald from a mobile game released in 2013 on the Japanese streaming service GREE. Finally, Kozo Dozaka replaced Seiji Kato as the Slug Count despite the latter's only "line" in The Advent being an evil chuckle.
  • Role Reprise: Sumi Shimamoto reprises Flora some twelve years after her original performance in Berserk: Millennium Falcon Hen Seima Senki no Shō (2004).
