- Deleted Scenes: In one, Bill mentions that his father didn't want him to risk his life by joining the military because of the deaths of his half-brother and half-sister before he was born.
- Follow-Up Failure: Initially a feature length pilot the show was cut up into ~10 minute webisodes before being edited back together into a film. Neither approach yielded a follow up.
- Franchise Killer: The pilot's failure to be picked up for a full series, along with Ronald D. Moore having moved onto other projects even before its production, proved the end of the line for the continuity that had begun with Battlestar Galactica (2003). Since then, talks of doing anything new with the franchise have been in the form of proposed Continuity Reboots that would take the franchise back to the Lighter and Softer tone of the original series.
- The Other Darrin: Bill is portrayed by Luke Pasqualino, instead of Nico Cortez as in the Razor flashbacks. However, he is a few years younger here than in Razor Flashbacks.
- Role Reprise: By Tricia Helfer (Number Six in the 2003 series) via voice-acting as the prototype Cylon-Humanoid. Her very first line is also the same from the 2003 pilot, "Are you alive?"
- You Look Familiar: Several actors who played supporting roles in Battlestar Galactica and/or Caprica play new characters here, including Ben Cotton, Brian Markinson, Carmen Moore, Ty Olsson, Jill Teed, Sebastian Spence, John Pyper-Ferguson and Leo Li Chiang.
