• Creator Backlash: DICE doesn't seem to be very proud of 2: Modern Combat, as a montage before the reveal of Battlefield V showcased all of the games before it - excluding this one. Tellingly, even Vietnam (a game so unpopular compared to 1942 that they implicitly ignored it with Battlefield 2's numbering), Hardline and Heroes (two games developed by other studios entirely, and also rather unpopular compared to contemporary mainline games) were shown.
