- What Could Have Been: Early in development, Ziggy (as a Kickstarter milestone that was reached) and Kirin (by default) were planned to be playable characters alongside Mina Han and Thrash. However, their roles were reduced to NPCs with the change from being just about cooking competitions to having a story. A playable Cezar was also a Kickstarter milestone but wasn't reached.
- Your opponents in cooking duels were originally going to have unique magic that interfered with your progress, making every challenge more unique, but was cut during testing as it was too much to keep track of.
- Ziggy was later added as a playable character in the deluxe edition, though not in the story mode.
