Refitted for Sequel: The Two-Face story was based on a detailed pitch for an actual TV two-parter that would have featured him as villain and got close to production, but was subject to an Executive Veto as the character's concept was considered too macabre. The original pitch was written by none other than famous SF writer Harlan Ellison.
What Could Have Been: Concept sketches of Two-Face included in the "Lost Episode" one-shot show that Two-Face was originally going to have the disfigured portion of his face colored blue. It was changed to green for the final draft to avoid comparisons to Two-Face's DC Animated Universe incarnation.

Milestone Celebration: The game was marketed as both a celebration of the original TV series' 50th anniversary and Stern Pinball's 30th year in business.
Troubled Production: The increased prices and existence of a "Super Limited Edition" (requiring customers to enter a sweepstakes to actually buy the game) drew controversy. When the game was revealed at the 2016 Chicago Pinball Expo, it was unplayable because of early software. Meanwhile, Stern's rivals brought functioning games, including Alien by Heighway Pinball, and Dialed In! by Jersey Jack Pinball; Stern threw an off-site 30th anniversary party to drive potential buyers away from the competition.
