Trivia / Bannertail: The Adventures of Gray Squirrel

Go To

  • Completely Different Title: The show was called Banner y Flappy (Banner and Flappy) in Spain.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Clay is voiced by a female in the Spanish, Persian and Arabic dubs except in the German dub.
  • Dub Name Change: Almost all of the characters:
    • In the German dub, Puschel das Eichhorn, their names are as follows:
      • Banner is named Puschel.
      • Sue's grandfather, unnamed in the Japanese version, is named Graubart ("Grey Beard," an odd name considering he has a mustache but no beard).
      • Clay's mother Lori is named Lily.
      • Akācho is named Spitzohr ("Pointed Ear").
      • Radōru and Gocha are named Felix and Rotbauch ("Red Belly").
      • The chipmunk - who like Sue's grandfather was also unnamed originally - is called Stummel.
    • In the Spanish dub, Banner y Flappy:
      • Sue is name Flappy.
      • Radōru is named Lador.
      • Akācho is named Acacio.
    • In English, Banner became Bandi, Sue became Suzy, and Clay became Joey.
  • No Export for You: The series was dubbed into Spanish, German, Persian and even Arabic, and was very well-received by those audiences, but it has to date never been dubbed into English, despite being based on a Canadian novel. According to Robert Axelrod's website his first voice acting role was as Banner for an English dub of the series. Whatever became of that dub, however, is unknown. At least part of the English dub is up on Youtube. Although at this present time, only a low-quality version is available.
