Trivia / Azure Dreams

  • Dummied Out: Several items were coded into the PS1 game, but assigned a 0% chance of dropping on any given floor, although it is still possible for them to be spit out by a Barong. Some, like the Shomuro herb, which was made to cure a status effect that was never implemented, are effectively useless. Technically there are ways for monsters to cause this sort of status effect on you, but unless you actually go out of your way to make such a situation possible, it will never be a problem.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Because the game has never been released outside of the original Playstation, physical copies of the game go for hefty prices.
  • No Dub for You: The Japanese version has voices for every character with a portrait, including your family members, Kewne, the girlfriends, Ghosh, the priest, and Beldo. Other regional releases of the game have no dub, most likely to save costs.
  • Referenced by...: Azure Dreams is one of the games Psycho Mantis can recognize save data for in the PS1 version of Metal Gear Solid.
  • Urban Legend of Zelda: Several, thanks to the ambiguity of guides and spread of misinformation.
    • Putting 3 of more items in the safe does not increase the chance that item will appear.
    • Guy's sword does not have a chance to turn monsters into eggs on kills, nor does the Holy Sword glow blue on attacks when it reaches +20 attack.
    • You cannot date Ghosh in the Japanese version of the PS1 game. The final portrait after all of Koh's available girlfriends is Beldo with an "X" over his icon.
    • You cannot marry any of the girls in the Japanese version.
    • Guy's ghost does not appear at level 38 of the tower. This one is made more frustrating on account of how often one would have to even try getting to the top floors just to test the theory out.
