• What Could Have Been: The stories' first drafts tend to be wildly different from what the players would eventually get in their game.
  • Aveyond 2 was originally meant to be a more direct sequel to the first game, being set 30 years after Rhen's Quest. The main conflict was supposed to involve the Snow Queen and Mountain King that Rhen & Co. party had previously encountered, several old characters would return, and the Swords of Shadow would be involved somehow. Then the setting was completely changed to take place 200 years after AV1, with a completely new cast and storyline that barely have anything to do with the first game.
  • Amanda initially wanted to bring back Ahriman from Rhen's Quest to be the True Final Boss of Darkhtop Prophecy. But after someone pointed out how little this makes sense (because Ahriman has been sealed in the Sword of Shadows), she replaced him with Mordred Darkthtop instead.
  • Aveyond 4 was meant to star Uma and Nox as major characters. However, Amanda decided that their roles won't fit the game's story, so they were completely axed from the game (not even a cameo).
