• Canon Discontinuity: In a journal entry posted on January 9, 2016, he considers Ben 10: Plumbers of Bellwood as his first true fanfic, thus rendering his previous fanfics before Plumbers of Bellwood (including this one) as no longer part of his fanfic bibliography.
• Creator Backlash: The creator admits that he shouldn't have redeemed Ozai in the first place as he was too remorseless to be redeemed.
• Word of God: The creator himself has said that he disliked the idea of Ursa being responsible for killing her own father-in-law, after seeing a picture from The Search Part 2 when Ursa creates a colourless, odourless poison that would kill Azulon.
• What Could Have Been: Before the fanfic was published on April 2013, according to the creator's journal mentioning his fanfic, it was originally going to incorporate elements from the post-finale graphic novels. However, he changed it as he decided to change it into his own canon, dubbed "Earth-2".
  • The original version of the fanfic was uploaded on September 12, 2013 and it showed some concepts that never made it to the final version:
    • Azula was suffering a Lady Macbeth-esque illness.
    • Smellerbee and Longshot were going to join Team Avatar before they were replaced by Ty Lee and Hahn in the final version.
    • Azula would have a Love Triangle between Haru and Sokka, eventually ending up with the latter.
