- Un-Canceled: Don't trust Tobias whenever he says he's "retiring" the project. Hell, after The Mystery of Time's "Flying Opera Tour," Sammet ended Avantasia for less than a year before bringing it back for Ghostlights. After that, he stopped saying that the project would be retired, but instead indicated that he might put it on hiatus for a while. Then, three years later, Moonglow happened. And then he took it further in 2020 and declared that Edguy was on hiatus to focus on A Paranormal Evening With The Moonflower Society.
- What Could Have Been:
- Tobias attempted repeatedly to recruit Ronnie James Dio onto the project. It's since been said that Dio was highly interested in joining, but could never find the time. Now, with Dio gone, that prospect has quite definitively ended.
- Meat Loaf was originally going to perform lead vocals on "Mystery of a Blood Red Rose", but Meat's management ultimately decided against it.
