  • After the film's release, director Tim Burstall stated in an interview, "[I]t's always awful when you take over from somebody else — and Phil is a friend — but he really wanted to do something quite different and I was regarded as much more of a whore, I suppose."

• What Could Have Been: The film was originally to be directed by Phillip Noyce, but he was let go following clashes with the producers over the casting and replaced with Tim Burstall.
