- What Could Have Been:
- Principal Haney was supposed to have died in the later entries of the Fifth series, and the reason for Clive being brought in would be to restore him to life. Instead, he was made into a cyborg.
- Fifth IX was supposed to be titled 'The Dying of the Light', but it was changed after a few chapters.
- And Fifth VIII was meant to be titled The Uncertainty Principal, relating to the above plot point.
- There was never meant to be a sixth grade series. The author originally intended to have a Time Skip to high school.
