• Real Life Writes the Plot: The brief LoliRock crossover in Chapter 8 came about due to the author having binge-watched the first season while writing.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Daga's original name was going to be based on Oscar Isaac — the only remnant being the name he gives the one-finned fish being "Gus" that stemmed from Oscar Isaac's role in Moon Knight (2022) — before the author went with the mythological theme.
  • Achi's beartrap was either going to become Ziggy or Zagreus, before the author just named them ZigZag.
  • The end of Chapter 13 would've had a Virus infect the Rocket Prize Machine, but this was scrapped because it would've dragged the chapter on and ended up making it harder for Chloe to keep up the masquerade.
  • The Pokémon Hop met at his camp in Chapter 14 was originally a Drifbloom, then a Growlithe. It would eventually be made a Cufant due to its Steel-typing good against Bede and because it was an opposite of Chairman Rose and his signature Pokémon being a Copperajah.
• Write Who You Hate: Gunning is named after a bully who picked on the author in her elementary school years.
