Trivia / Aquaman (1991)

Go To

  • What Could Have Been: The Aquaman Shrine featured an interview with Shaun McLaughlin about future plans for the book had it not been canceled.
    • Minister F'ancha was originally planned to be Orm in disguise, working to turn the people against Aquaman with a long-term plan. The book was canceled, so this never happened.
    • Derea and Peli were planned to appear again, but this was scuttled when the book was canceled.
    • Other storylines considered were Aquaman actually killing Black Manta in self-defense, and having two potential love interests, one underwater and one on land, to represent his duality before Mera was rescued from Thanatos's dimension. Queequeg the whaler was also slated to reappear, while Jordan Wylie was set to be a land-based villain a la Lex Luthor.
    • As a follow-up to this series, Shaun wanted to do a four-issue series which would retell the Post-Crisis origin. It would bring back the Silver Age canon of Aquaman being the son of Tom Curry and Atlanna. It would also reveal that Atlan (Aquaman's father, Post-Crisis) had manipulated them to be together for unknown reasons. In addition, Captain Storm of the Losers (not the one from Vertigo Comics) would be revealed to be Tom Curry's black-sheep brother.
