  • Milestone Celebration: The 100th episode was commemorated on 3rd March 2018.
  • Series Hiatus: The show went on a four-year hiatus from 2009 to 2013, due to the duo working on other projects, such as the game shows Ant & Dec's Push the Button and Red or Black? and on a two-year hiatus from 2018 to 2020 due to Ant going to rehab for alcoholism as well as the duo's commitments on their documentary Ant & Dec's DNA Journey after his rehab was complete.
  • Troubled Production
    • Series 15 (2018) was affected greatly by the absence of Ant McPartlin following the fourth episode, after he was involved in a traffic accident on 18 March 2018, connected to drink-driving, which led to him suspending further presenting duties the following day for the rest of the series and other programmes. As a direct result, it led to an episode that was planned for 24 March 2018 to be cancelled by ITV, and the discontinuation of "Ant vs. Dec" for the rest of the series after two challenges. However, its most significant impact, was that it led to Dec hosting the remaining two episodes by himself, the first time he had presented a programme in 30 years without Ant, with his co-presenters Stephen Mulhern and Scarlett Moffat receiving an expanded role in these episodes.note  The decision to continue the series after the incident had occurred was primarily down to the presenters and the production team choosing not to cancel tickets made out to people who had secured a place within the audience for the series finale in Florida. Due to Ant's stay in rehab, the next series could not be produced in time for 2019.
    • It seems that this show cannot take a break. Series 16 began on 22 February 2020, just as the COVID-19 Pandemic escalated in the UK. Though the premiere ran as normal, the show was quickly forced to ditch the audience, with Ant & Dec presenting together from the studio with a skeleton crew cheering them on in lieu of the audience. Ultimately, the last couple of episodes had Ant & Dec (and Stephen Mulhern) presenting a Clip Show from their own homes. Series 17 ran as scheduled in 2021, returning Ant & Dec to the studio. However, since the UK was still under lockdownnote  they still had to take safety measures, most notably a virtual audience joining in from their homes.
  • What Could Have Been: Tom Jones was originally going to be the guest announcer for the March 21, 2020 episode before COVID-19 Pandemic nixed those plans and thus he was replaced by Joel Dommett instead. Jones would appear on the show a year later as musical guest.
