• What Could Have Been
  • Preceeding the involvement of Shotaro Ishinomori, the original pitch for the show which eventually became Kikaider was "Fugitive from Hell"^note Jigoku kara no tōbō-sha, with a Kamen Rider-inspired Android K fighting bad guys after escaping from the evil organization DARK.
  • With Ishinomori brought onboard, it was changed to "Android Angel Satan". The Hero was still named K, but it was here that the conscience circuit was introduced.
  • Then came "Android^note Jinzo Ningen Red Blue" with the hero's name changed to Seiko (Red Blue)
  • Penultimately, "Red Blue" became "Zero Diver", which was announced in children's magazines. The network objected to this, bringing to mind the image of the show diving to a 0% audience rating, and so Ishinomori finally changed the name to Kikaider.
