- Colbert Bump: Interest in the ride and many other defunct rides from Disney Theme Parks surged after being featured in the YouTube documentary series Defunctland.
- Milestone Celebration: America Sings was born out of Disney's desire to celebrate the bicentennial of the USA's Declaration of Independence, opening two years before it.
- Prop Recycling: When the attraction closed in 1988, most of the animatronics were moved to other attractions.
- Many animatronics ended up at Splash Mountain and were reprogrammed.
- Two of the geese of the Geese Quartet were turned into "droids" by stripping them of their feathers, changing their heads, and putting them in Star Tours. This occurred before America Sings closed, resulting in the Geese Quartet in the first two acts becoming the Geese Trio in the attraction's last two years of use.
- What Could Have Been:
- Concept art online shows that songs like "By the Beautiful Sea", "Carry Me Back to Old Virginny", "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms", "Turkey in the Straw" (sung by - naturally - a turkey), "Mamie's Little Baby Loves Shortnin' Bread", and "A Bicycle Built For Two"◊ were considered for inclusion in the attraction.
- Another piece of concept art shows that the Swamp Boys were originally going to be accompanied by a harmonica-playing possum. The possum was, in the actual attraction, replaced by a raccoon.
- A show mixing America Sings's characters with the Country Bears was proposed in the 1970s for Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness that would see animatronic figures interacting with live performers.
- After the attraction closed, there were plans for a new show called Plectu's Fantastic Intergalactic Revue to take its place. The outside of the building would've been redressed to look like a UFO, and the show would've starred animatronic aliens that had landed in California as part of a galaxy-wide tour. Alas, the attraction was never built, apparently because Michael Eisner didn't like the idea, and the building sat empty until Innoventions opened there in 1998.
