• You Look Familiar: Vincent Gardenia appears as Curtis Rempley. He appeared before as Jim Bowman in "Lionel Moves into the Neighborhood", and more notably would become a regular during season 4 as Frank Lorenzo.
• What Could Have Been: Rue McClanahan had been up for a part in an earlier episode, but couldn't get out of a stage commitment, and Norman Lear promised to keep her in mind for a future role when she became available again. "The Bunkers and the Swingers" was that part. When the interviewer asked McClanahan what her original role was, sadly, she couldn't recall, but she insisted that Ruth Rempley was a much better part than what she had originally been offered.
