  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The books and their audio adaptations never received official digital releases, limiting them to physical copies that are now long out of production. There are still copies available for purchase online, however.
  • Referenced by...: A couple references to the trilogy appear in Star Wars items from the Legends continuity.
    • The Complete Star Wars Encyclopaedia mentions the Viis Empire and the Aaroun, specifically that the former keeps the latter as slaves and gladiators.
    • The Unknown Regions also mentions the Viis Empire, stating that it was devastated by the Mnggal-Mnggal plague (possibly referencing the Dancing Death).
    • The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide depicts a Republic senator who looks remarkably like a Viis.
    • The HoloNet News website featured an article on gladiatorial combat that includes a quote from a Viis regarding his empire's Aaroun gladiators.
  • Stillborn Franchise: A fairly minor case, considering that the main plotline of the trilogy concludes neatly. But according to the website, there were originally plans for nine books split into three trilogies, with Ampris' saga being the first. Little is known about the plans for the additional trilogies, though it is mentioned that the third trilogy would have followed a descendant of Ampris'. There is definitely some setup for future books given the Sequel Hook involving Ampris' sons, with Foloth being positioned as a challenger to Elrabin's leadership of the new abiru society. A vision from the Eye of Clarity also shows Foloth and Nashmarl facing off as adults, possibly over who will succeed Elrabin in the future. This is also in addition to the fate of the wider Viis Empire and its remaining abiru slaves being largely unknown, with the Empire last seen collapsing, facing rebellion on several fronts, and likely on the brink of a succession crisis with Israi's death. Several major Viis antagonists are also still alive as of the conclusion of the trilogy, including Oviel and Ehssk. Alas, since the trilogy wasn't a commercial success, no sequels were ever written.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The trilogy was originally going to be a series of Star Wars novels, with the first book being Alien Exodus (Wookiepedia article here). Alien Exodus would have revealed the origins of humans, Hutts, and the name Skywalker, in addition to showing the first discovery of the Force.
    • Early plans for the series would have seen the trilogy being the first of three in the setting, for a total of nine books.
    • With the first two books adapted into audio plays, an adaptation of the third book was presumably planned. However, it never came to fruition.
