• What Could Have Been: The PS1 Air Combat was meant to be a direct port of the arcade game of the same name, before the project got scrapped in favor of the newer builds based off the arcade version's core mechanics. At the time, direct ports of the arcade games were popular choices among developers at Namco, and many of them (such as PS1 ports of Ridge Racer and Tekken) offered extra features on top of base games, so they planned to have Air Combat follow suit prior.
