  • Troubled Production: A video called "The SHOCKING truth behind Agents of Mayhem" by Flippy details several problems that occurred during development. Over the course of the game's development, Volition was lying to Deep Silver about features in the game, claiming they were finished when they really weren't. When Deep Silver found out, they were pissed and demanded Volition to finish the game as soon as possible, along with requesting additional features that had to be made in a short timespan. Deep Silver would also compare their work to games such as Grand Theft Auto V and Forza, despite them not trying to make a game like that. All of this, along with alleged cases of workplace bullying, resulted in a hectic development cycle and one of the factors for the game's failure.
  • Viral Marketing: Volition uploaded a cutscene of Hardtack and Fortune watching one of Hollywood's old porn vids to a pornsite.note
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Early concept art shows that Oni was going to be a woman.
    • Some of the agents had different code names in development: Hollywood was "Movie Star", Braddock was "Warchild", and Scheherezade was "Sandstorm".
    • At a number of potential Agents were cut from the roster.
    • The game was at one point meant to be a PlayStation exclusive, which is how Johnny Gat was added to the game by Sony's demand.
    • Modding tools were planned to be released. Said tools were to be very detailed and expansive, with mission creators, map editors, and even access to Stilwater and Steelport.
  • You Sound Familiar: Hardtack is voiced by T.C. Carson, who had also voiced Anthony Green in SR1 and SR4.
