• Aerith and Bob: Ningning is the only one that does not use a Western stage name, which makes hers stand out a little bit between the more western ones of her groupmates (Giselle, Winter and Karina).
• Ascended Extra:
  • Before debuting, Karina danced with labelmates Taemin of SHINee in his "Want" music video and Kai of EXO for a Hyundai advertisement.
  • Ningning was a popular member of SM Rookies, a pre-debut training team testing the waters for potential singers.
• But Not Too Foreign: While born and raised in Japan, Giselle is half-Korean.
• Fan Community Nickname: MY. Oddly enough, the fan club name was announced before their first single was even released.
• Promoted Fangirl:
  • Karina is known to be a "pink blood," a fan of the music put out by SM Entertainment. She listed their girl groups Girls' Generation, f(x), and Red Velvet as her favorite Kpop artists. She herself later debuted in SM Entertainment's next girl group.
  • As a member of GOT the Beat for SM's Girls On Top project, she (along with Winter) performed with Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet's Wendy and Seulgi, and BoA.
• The Leader: Karina, as designated by the label.
• The Mentor: SM's in-house songwriter and producer Yoo Young-Jin had the largest role in shaping aespa before leaving the label.
• Multinational Team: Karina and Winter are from South Korea, Giselle is from Japan, and Ningning is from China.
